About the Bible text

This app displays scripture from the Douay-Rheims Bible (DRA), a classic English Catholic translation originally published in the late 16th and early 17th centuries, with a revised edition by Bishop Richard Challoner in the 18th century.

The DRA follows the Septuagint (Greek/Latin Vulgate) numbering, which differs from the Hebrew numbering used in most modern Bibles. Most Psalms in the DRA are numbered one less than what you may be used to seeing. Modern Bibles (Hebrew) DRA (Septuagint) Psalm 23 ("The Lord is my shepherd") Psalm 22 Psalm 51 ("Have mercy on me") Psalm 50 Psalm 91 ("He who dwells...") Psalm 90 Psalm 150 (last Psalm) Psalm 149 Numbering may differ by 1.

Yes! Since the DRA is public domain, you are free to copy, share, and quote the verses displayed here without any restrictions.
